Test Overview

[Insert Video Placeholder Here] - This video will walk you through the nuclear stress test process, what to expect, and how to prepare.

During the Test

  • The test consists of two main parts: imaging at rest and imaging during stress, which may be on the same day or on two different days.
  • You will receive a small amount of radioactive dye through an IV, which is safe and helps highlight your heart's blood flow.
  • Images of your heart at rest will be taken before you are asked to exercise on a treadmill or stationary bike. If you're unable to exercise, a medication may be given to simulate stress on the heart.
  • Throughout the test, your heart rate, blood pressure, and electrocardiogram (ECG) will be monitored.

After Your Nuclear Stress Test

Post-Test Instructions

  • You can usually resume normal activities and diet immediately after the test unless your healthcare provider advises otherwise.
  • Drink plenty of water to help flush the radioactive tracer from your body.

Results

Your test results will be analyzed by a cardiologist, and a follow-up appointment will be scheduled to discuss the findings. This is typically within [insert timeframe for results, e.g., "one week"].
